Plus, with no foreign transaction fees, this card can be a valuable tool for those who travel internationally. In this review, we will take a closer look at the features and benefits of the Capital One Venture X, as well as the potential drawbacks and fees, to help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

If you're looking for a credit card that can help you save money on travel and earn valuable rewards points, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card may be the right choice for you. With the ability to earn 2 points per dollar spent on all purchases and redeem those points for travel at a rate of 1 cent per point, this card can help you save money and earn rewards on your everyday spending.

One of the main benefits of the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is the ability to earn rewards points for every purchase you make. With no limits on the number of points you can earn, you can rack up a significant amount of rewards over time. These points can then be redeemed for travel purchases at a rate of 1 cent per point, or transferred to participating hotel and airline loyalty programs. This can be a valuable way to save money on travel and earn perks for future trips.

In addition to earning rewards points, the Capital One Venture X offers a variety of travel credits that can help offset the cost of travel. The $100 credit for Global Entry or TSA Precheck can help you save money on these government programs, which can expedite the process of clearing customs and security at airports. The $300 annual credit for travel can help cover costs such as baggage fees, in-flight refreshments, and other travel expenses when booked on Capital One Travel. These credits can make the card more financially viable for those who travel frequently.

Another advantage of the Venture X is the lack of foreign transaction fees. Many credit cards charge a fee for purchases made outside of the United States, which can add up for those who travel internationally and make purchases in foreign currencies. The Capital One Venture X does not charge any foreign transaction fees, which can save you money on your international purchases.

In addition to the rewards and travel credits, the Venture X offers purchase protection, which can cover eligible items against accidental damage or theft for 90 days from the date of purchase. This can provide peace of mind and protection for your purchases.

Capital One Lounge (Credit: Capital One)

One of the benefits of the Venture X is access to airport lounges through the Priority Pass Select program. With this program, you can access over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide, including lounges in major international airports and smaller regional airports. This can be a valuable way to relax and recharge before a flight, with amenities such as comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, refreshments, and sometimes even showers and spa services. The Priority Pass Select membership is included at no additional cost. Unlike some other issuers the Priority Pass that comes with Venture X does not give access to non-lounge activities in the Priority Pass network.

Capital One is also coming out with their own network of lounges starting with the one at Dallas (DFW). Venture X cardholders can enjoy unlimited complimentary access, plus complimentary entry for two guests per visit—and special pricing of $45 per visit for additional guests.

The Venture X also comes with a $300 annual travel credit to offset the $395 annual fee of the card. This travel credit can be used for a multitude of things including travel booked on the capital one travel portal. This may not be as easy as the Chase travel credit offered on the Sapphire Reserve but is definitely usable.

Some of the potential drawbacks of this credit card include:

  • Annual fee: The Capital One Venture X Credit Card has an annual fee of $395.

  • Minimum spending requirements: As of writing the sign-up bonus on the Venture X is 75,000 Capital One miles after spending $4000 in the first 3 months

TLDR;

If you do the math, you can come out ahead of this card and that is why we recommend it as a keeper card

Annual fee = $395

Travel credit = - $300

Anniversary bonus = 10,000 miles (at least $100 in value)

So essentially, you are getting paid to get this card.
